Cleaning - Housekeeping

A housekeeping charge applies to each rental. It covers post-rental cleaning. There is no covered housekeeping service during the rental period. The housekeeping charge includes use of linens, towels and bath mats from our supplies.*

Our cleaning service is contracted to perform normal housekeeping tasks, including washing linens and towels, making the beds, and cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms and the kitchen. If you use our pots and pans and high-temperature cooking glassware, we expect you to clean those items. Also, please clean after your cooking spills, in particular we ask that you leave the cook-top and the oven as clean as you found them.

The renting guests are requested to perform the following "common-sense" simple tasks before departing:
— wash dishes or place in dish washer and start the washing cycle (no need to wait and empty dishwasher)
— place furniture, if moved, back in original position
— remove trash from the house (place into black bin in shed)
— remove recyclables to bin in left shed ***
— close windows and lower shades, lock sliding doors nd front door
— remove your foods from the refrigerator
— launder all those items which you used from our supplies in addition to the regular rental allotment****.

It is OK to depart even when clothes- and dishwasher are still running.

* As "regular rental allotment" we provide the linens that are on the beds upon arrival of the guests, as well as one large towel, one hand towel, and one wash towel per guest per rental period. However, there are additional supplies in the closets. As a courtesy, our renting guests are welcome to make use of these additional supplies, but they are then EXPECTED to launder those additionally used supplies.

** Our valued repeat renters may recall that we used an in-ground garbage can at Casa Pacis. That can is no longer serviced. Please place all trash into the black plastic bin in the left shed.

*** Garbage and refuse pickup is on Wednesdays

**** We will highly appreciate, but do not require it, if you also start washing the “allotted” laundry (flat sheet, fitted sheet, and towels) before departing.
