For Your Protection

So our valued renting guests can be — and feel — utmost safe and protected while staying at an AC-Views home, we have kept the following skeleton of Covid-19 precautionary provisions:

  • 24-HOUR SPACING BETWEEN HOUSE OCCUPANCIES: We try to avoid back-to-back rentals and leave the premises unoccupied for a minimum of 24 hours between rentals; but we do occasionally facilitate same-day turnovers.

  • MINIMAL BEDDING: The most problematic items from a hygienic/safety point of view have always been blankets. The bedding we typically supply consists of a freshly laundered fitted sheet and a light-weight comforter in a duvet that is laundered before each rental. Details here.

  • REMOVE BEDSPREAD: We advise our guests that the decorative bedspread and pillows, which they will find upon arrival on top of the beds, are “for appearance only” and are not intended for bedding and should please be removed upon arrival and deposited in the closet for the duration of the rental.

  • IF FEASIBLE, REMOVE DUVET & BRING YOU OWN COMFORTERS: We continue to RECOMMEND* to our guests to bring their own comforters or blankets for bedding.** If you do so, kindly roll up our duvet, which is underneath the bedspread, and place it also in the closet or wardrobe.*** (We as owners have been practicing this for many years for our own visits: we roll up our down comforters and pillows, in sleeping bag fashion, and put them on the rear seat in our car, and our first action after arrival at our vacation destination — or a hotel — is to roll up the existing bedding, put it in the closet, and place our own bedding on the bed. It’s a small inconvenience with the huge benefit that we can then sleep in our very own comfortable bedding).
    Of course, this is all optional, and especially when you come from far away, this may be totally impractical and is never expected). **
    Note that the master bedrooms in our homes have a CA King-size bed. One of the other bedrooms in Alta Vista has a Queen bed.

  • TOWELS: We allot one set of towels per rental per person. Our guests are welcome to use more from our supplies, but we then request that they launder these EXTRA supplies before departure.****

  • UPON DEPARTURE: Do NOT re-make the bed(s); leave the rolled-up bedding in the closet, so the housekeepers know you did not use it.

  • LAUNDRY: Please wash, dry, fold and re-place into the closet(s) all EXTRA linen and towels you used from our supplies.
    We also ask that, on your departure day, you please put at least one load of the ALLOTTED sheets and towels in the washer and start the wash cycle. This would save valuable housekeeping time. Thank you for your cooperation.

*** At Alta Vista you may find the duvet sandwiched between two flat sheets.
**** Please honor this difference between “allotted” and “extra” linens and towels. Laundry is the single most time consuming housekeeping activity.
